Hello, everyone. In case you happen to follow this little comic series I’ve started, you might have been wondering why the hell it’s taking so long for me to start updating the thing again. Do not fret, for I’ve been working on the printed version of issue #1. Ever since I finished page 25 of episode 1 I’ve turned my focus to getting the first printed issue complete and ready to print. I had to add a few extra pages since there was only a 24 or 28 page count for the printed comic, and nothing in between, so I had to fill those extra pages with something, so I made a little epilogue exclusive to the printed version (it’s not terribly vital to the plot or anything, so you’re not really missing anything, it’s just a little extra something-or-other). I also had to make a back cover, and the front and back inside covers, so that took some time too. I do apologize, though. It really shouldn’t have taken several months to get this done. I got distracted with other things on the corporeal plane that really couldn’t be helped, but I finally manged to get it done. And here it is:
Yep, that’s me holding in my hand my first ever professionally printed comic! Needless to say, I was quite excited to see this when it finally arrived. I got it printed using the print-on-demand service at Ka-Blam. It turned out very well. The printing looks great. The colors are a little warmer than they are on screen, but it really doesn’t matter, it still looks good. Even the papery texture I use turned out looking nice. It’s a quality comic to be sure (that is to say, the printing and paper is. For the actual content I pass no judgment, as it is my creation and thus would make it highly biased). Earlier I submitted it to Ka-Blam’s publisher IndyPlanet. As of this blog post, it hasn’t shown up yet on their site, but it should very soon, so keep an eye out for it, if you’re interested. It’ll be $5.50, which I think is pretty fair, considering the amount of time and energy I put into it. And with each purchase you are supporting me and this comic, so if you like the comic, why don’t you (when it’s available) grab one and read it how it was originally intended to be read? Not only do you get the comic, but you get my undying gratitude, absolutely free.
Now here are some pictures so you can look at in case you for whatever reason don’t believe me and think what I’m holding in my hand over there is just the cover page printed from my desktop printer. I don’t know why you would think that, but just in case, here you go:
